About

Hello from the Pillow Exchange team

We think choosing a pillow should be less of a guessing game. This site is where we explain, plainly, how pillows work and how to find one that suits the way you actually sleep.

Why this site exists

Most people buy a pillow by squeezing it in a shop or picking whatever looks comfy in a photo, then live with the result for years. The problem is that a pillow only reveals itself after several real nights. Our motto — sleep on it before you commit — is about slowing that decision down: knowing what to look for, understanding the labels, and giving a new pillow a fair trial.

Pillow Exchange started as an idea about letting people swap a pillow that turned out to be wrong. The articles here are the groundwork for that idea: the questions worth asking before, during and after you buy.

What we cover

How we write

Our articles are written by the Pillow Exchange team from widely available, general knowledge about bedding materials, care labels and healthy sleep habits. We aim to explain principles rather than push products, so you will not find star ratings, product rankings or claims that we have lab-tested anything. When a topic has health implications — neck pain, snoring, insomnia — we keep to cautious general guidance and point you to a doctor or physiotherapist for anything personal.

Every article shows the date it was last updated. If you spot something that is wrong or out of date, please tell us through the contact page and we will look at it.

Who runs Pillow Exchange

Pillow Exchange is operated by Marketing Apes LLC. The site is supported by advertising, which helps keep the articles free to read. Advertisers do not choose or review what we write. You can read how advertising and analytics work on this site in our privacy policy.

What we are not

We are not doctors, physiotherapists or sleep clinicians, and nothing here is medical advice. If you have persistent pain, numbness, loud snoring with pauses in breathing, or long-running trouble sleeping, please speak to a qualified professional.
